The toothbrush has lots of great features - I love that it's not noisy, my last electric toothbrush was like a pneumatic drill in my head, this was more of a hum. My teeth really do feel so much cleaner since using the brush, the app helps me to make sure I'm not repeatedly missing certain areas. I also like that it's a gentle oscillation that works well on the gum line without causing bleeding.

This is a high quality toothbrush that feels smooth and gentle while still delivering a satisfyingly deep clean each time i use it. The handle has a comfy grip and easy to keep clean, making it inviting for daily use. I like the pressure sensor and timer are genuinely helpful for improved brushing. The cleaning performance is excellent, easily matching higher-end brushes and the brush feels quieter and less aggressive than other models I've used. Overall, it's a premium brush that feels great to use.

[This review was submitted after receiving an incentive.] I am only giving this 4 stars instead of 5 because I currently have the IO9. I will review this knowing what the later models have but also compare the price point. The round brush head is a must to ensure a good clean around as much of the tooth as possible. It cups each tooth and the head is small enough to reach my wisdom teeth right at the back. This brush head is the same for all IOs. The toothbrush has a rubber panel at the front to change settings and does not have a screen like the newer models do. This however does not affect the cleaning job it does. Only if you enjoy seeing the star eyed face after a good 3 minutes brushing, would you want the screen of the newer models. It is easy to change the modes but the charging port is not magnetic and unfortunately has the old charging stick that goes in the bottom of the toothbrush and always gets disgusting. This is my main issue with the IO5. Again does not effect the cleaning job so only minor. Finally the case doesn't charge the toothbrush and it does feel more flimsy that the IO9. The app is good if you can remember to use it! The rubber at the front does attract dust as you may see from the photo. However, I would say it's probably better value for the price compared to newer versions.

I've not used an electric toothbrush before so I didn't really know what to expect. I liked the look of the brush with its black satin finish and has a good weight to it. I particularly liked the different brushing modes and the fact that it remembers it everytime I turn it on. The light ring has a colour coded alert system for pressure on the gums which tells me when there is too much, too little or just the right amount. Overall the features are a great and the free to install app that connects to the brush via Bluetooth keeps track of my brushing habits. The app connects in real time and you can visually see which areas of my teeth have been cleaned. I will admit that I didn't like the feeling of the vibrations in my mouth after the first brush as I am so used to using a manual toothbrush, but it has got easier over time. I was so impressed at the level of clean that I didn't want to give up trying and found that the sensitive setting was perfect for me.

[This review was submitted after receiving an incentive.] I was always of the mind of not understanding the hype around electric toothbrushes. Like what could it do that my manual couldn't. Gimmick features with a higher price tag. So when a cheap beauty store brand one came around I thought it was good idea just to try. It was okay. Slightly better than manual I'll admit. Now I'll get to the point ... the opportunity to try this oral b was too good not to try take up. The brushes come in two colours , black and white which is great for not getting mixed up. Silly yes but better than not using someone else's brush . Plus let's face it we aren't trying to match our toothbrushes to the decor are we? Too personalise it further, in the App (which easy to download and register) you can choose from several colours for the band to light up. A novel feature. It has several modes , (standard, sensitive and whitening with pluses) which I'll admit I don't know what the differences are. I didn't feel a difference in pressure or speed so I'll definitely have to look into that. Whether it's in the user manual (which I did glance over) or in App. Another feature is the 2 minute timer celebration. This is my only complaint. Very minor one at that. My old electric would vibrate after 2 minutes so I knew I was done. This doesn't. I ended up with some over 5 minute session (thanks to the app for the record) because I was expecting it to vibrate. I soon learnt that it vibrates after 30 secs so it's best to treat your teeth in quarters and after you turn it off the band gives you a little celebration of lights. The best feature is the band. When brushing it lights green when the best pressure, red when too much and pink (in my case) when not touching. This is a great way to see what you're doing wrong and saves those sore gums. Likewise I feel this had left my teeth feeling cleaner for longer , there is less staining and generally in better condition. In the app you connect via Bluetooth which shows you your previous sessions as well as a guided session. The guided one has a representation of teeth which go from blue to sparkling white as you brush . It shows you which section you're not giving full attention too but you do have a longer session than 2 minutes. It shows you how much time youre using over pressure , what time you brushed etc. A nice feature if you're into that or curious. The app also shows you how much charge you have but likewise the brush has a separate light that flags up the low battery. It comes with a charge unit which needs a 2 rounded prong plug. It's a reasonable charge time but I haven't monitored how many sessions in between full charges. It also come with a travel box for 1 which is quite handy. Overall I get the hype . If you enjoy gadgets , this is cool with the app that monitors your sessions to trying to get the perfect score or pressure or to seeing the data. For me this brush has given me better clean, leaving my teeth feeling polished and a dentist clean. Whiter and almost flossed like condition. It's taught me the right pressure and now I've corrected my technique.

I love the timer and the way the green ring turns red if you're pressing too hard! I suffer from plaque and this has definitely started to improve that! My teeth look and feel whiter and healthier than they ever have! My Partner is using the other one and he feels exactly the same way!
